Infinitive or Gerund?
Some verbs are always used with verbs in the
infinitive form (to + verb).
I need to study.
Other verbs are always used with verbs in the
gerund form (verb + -ing).
He started working.
Other verbs can be used with either form.
I like swimming.
I like to swim.
Verbs used with the infinitive
arrange (to
+ verb) = arreglar
demand (to
+ verb) = demandar, exigir
expect (to
+ verb) = esperar (lo que piensas
que va a pasar)
hope (to
+ verb) = esperar (como esperanza)
manage (to
+ verb) = lograr (hacer algo)
need (to
+ verb) =
